NGBS Green Certification Fees
Keeping rigorous green home certification affordable for all markets
Single-Family or Townhomes
Includes buildings covered by the IRC. A townhouse is defined as a single-family dwelling unit constructed in a group of three or more attached units in which each unit extends from foundation to roof. For NGBS Green purposes, there is no height limit for a building to be considered a townhouse.

a Stacked townhomes (i.e., “2x2s”) are multifamily buildings and should be registered as a 4-story building with 2 units – two-over-two/stacked townhouse – and the fee is $400 for the building. Duplexes are multifamily buildings with two units that are located on a single tax lot. Triplexes are multifamily buildings with three units.
b To be eligible for volume discounts for MF buildings, buildings must be under 4 stories, on the same development parcel within the same community, and registered at the same time. Multifamily buildings 4 or more stories are not eligible for a volume discount.
NGBS Green+ Certification
Badges include Net Zero Energy, Resilience, Smart Home, Universal Design, Wellness, and Zero Water.

On request, specialized project/development-wide pricing is available if all buildings within that project seek NGBS Green+ recognition.
Land Development Certification
Available when land development activities completed and inspected; can be done in phases. Pricing is based on the number of lots covered by certification. When certifying by phases, fees are per phase.

Land development certification is free when deed covenant requires all eligible buildings to seek NGBS Green certification. Call for details and approval.
