Includes buildings covered by the IRC. A townhouse is defined as a single-family dwelling unit constructed in a group of three or more attached units in which each unit extends from foundation to roof. For NGBS Green purposes, there is no height limit for a building to be considered a townhouse.

Duplexes are multifamily buildings with two units that are located on a single tax lot. Triplexes are multifamily buildings with three units.
b To be eligible for volume discounts for MF buildings, buildings must be under 4 stories, on the same development parcel within the same community, and registered at the same time. Multifamily buildings 4 or more stories are not eligible for a volume discount.
