Nordic Lam products are cost effective and highly versatile in residential and light commercial applications. Nordic has a grade and dimension to fit every need, enabling architects, designers and specifiers to choose the best available design solution.

601.2(1) Structural systems are implemented that reduce and optimize material usage. Minimum structural member sizes necessary in accordance with advanced framing techniques. 3 Product must be used as part of a design that uses structural members at spans and spacings equal to the maximum rating for the product.

Manufacturer's Comments: Nordic Lam products enable the use of advanced framing techniques.
606.1

The following biobased products are used:

  1. certified solid wood in accordance with Section 606.2
  2. engineered wood
  3. bamboo
  4. cotton
  5. cork
  6. straw
  7. natural fiber products made from crops (soy-based, corn-based)
  8. products with the minimum biobased contents of the USDA 7 CFR Part 2902
  9. other biobased materials with a minimum of 50% biobased content (by weight or volume)

8 points maximum awarded. 3 points is the minimum score. Additional points listed in 606.1(3) cannot be claimed unless 3 points are claimed for 606.1(1) or 6 points for 606.1(2).

 3, 6 To earn 6 points, this product must be at least 1% of the construction material cost AND another bio-based product, also at 1% of material cost, must be used. Lesser points are available at the 0.5% level.

Manufacturer's Comments: Nordic Lam products are made from trees under Nordic's stewardship, a natural and renewable resource.
606.2(2)

Where a minimum of two certified wood-based products are used in major elements of the building, such as walls, floors, or roof.

 3, 4 To earn 4 points a second certified wood product must also be used as a major element. Lesser points available for use with a minor element.

Manufacturer's Comments: Nordic Lam products are certified to the requirements of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
606.3

Materials are used for major components of the building that are manufactured using a minimum of 33% of the primary manufacturing process energy derived from renewable sources, combustible waste sources, or renewable energy credits (RECs).

 2 These products must be used for a major component of the building.

Manufacturer's Comments: Hydro-electricity and biomass are used to manufacture the Nordic products, which are renewable energy sources.
608.1(2) Engineered wood products are used. 3 At least 80% of the columns and wall studs in the building are these products.

Manufacturer's Comments: Nordic Lam products are a resource efficient material.
901.4(2-6)

A minimum of 85% of material within a product group (i.e., wood structural panels, countertops, composite trim/doors, custom woodwork, and/or component closet shelving) is manufactured in accordance with the following.

 4 A minimum of 85% of the wall structure in the building must be this product.

Manufacturer's Comments: Nordic Lam Wall Studs and Columns are non-emitting products that contain no added urea-formaldehyde.
