The Pearl Apartments

The Pearl Apartments in Jackson, Miss. is a former Holiday Inn where the old motel rooms were converted into studio apartments for senior residents. Through a unique local partnership that addresses affordable housing and health disparities, The Pearl also offers health care services on-site. All five buildings earned the NGBS Green Certification at the Silver level. The moderate rehabilitation project included replacement of lighting, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC equipment.

Seneca Creek Senior Living

Seneca Creek's Gaithersburg location and thoughtfully designed apartments offer a comfortable and convenient living option for today's seniors. Each one- and two-bedroom floorplan is designed to provide comfort and flexibility, allowing residents to create a home that fits their space and living needs. Recognizing that there is more to apartment living than the floorplan, Seneca Creek also created special community amenities including a beauty salon, fitness center, clubroom, and bike storage.

Bluebird Permanent Supportive Housing is a 40-unit, affordable, multifamily building in the Boulder Junction neighborhood of Colorado and provides housing to Boulder residents experiencing homelessness.

Ruth Ellis Center

NGBS Case Study: The REC has established a national reputation in providing positive youth development, harm reduction, restorative justice, and trauma-informed services for lesbian, gay, bi-attractional, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth and young adults. The center places an emphasis on the needs and support of young people of color experiencing homelessness, involvement in the child welfare system, and/or barriers to their health and wellbeing.

COTS Peterboro

COTS Peterboro, originally the Hotel Imperial in Detroit Michigan, was purchased in 1983 for $1.5 million and converted to a headquarters that offers 56 supportive units spanning eight stories, providing those with nowhere to call home a safe, and green, residence.

Casa Indiana

Casa Indiana is a new 50-unit affordable and supportive housing community for independent older adults constructed on the site of a former yarn mill in the Fairhill neighborhood. Casa Indiana features a mix of traditional one-bedroom and handicap-accessible apartments, as well as gardens, community rooms, a library, and on-site medical offices that provide services to residents.
